The
Association of Women in Sports Media (AWSM) mentors
young women entering the field through scholarships, internships,
and contact with veteran members; serves as a positive advocate
for women in the field through support services, networking
and national visibility; and promotes the fair portrayal of
female professionals in sports media, encouraging diversity
and positive workplace environments. In doing all of this,
the members of AWSM find they also have a hell of a good time.
Their annual convention will be held this year in San Diego
over Memorial Day weekend. www.awsm.org
